I agree with you to a point, I'd say that all of their current gen attempts have not been that great at all, such as infinite undiscovery and from the looks of it Last Remnant as well.

This game just looks massive in terms of scale
aside from the massive slow down and pop in, the battle system seemed overly confusing with the multiple battle groups and all. I dont think this game is classified as a srpg is it? Im just not impressed with it, during the exploring video on Kotaku the area was very flat and sparse in terms of landscape.
Bring on a real rpg's like WKC for us PS3 folk and Star Ocean for 360.
2.99 for those 4 is just to hard to pass up. Im all in. Cant wait for some other favorite franchises to pop up (other than snake and sephiroth of course). Altair sackboy? Big Daddy sackboy? Nazi Zombie?

Its not like 360 benefited very much from being easier to develop for. 360 version had worse visuals imo and it was lacking some key gameplay aspects.

The game looks fantastic, I will be picking it up day one, enjoyed the first one, Im all in, but I just know its going to get slammed by certain sights (ahem Gamedaily) about the lack of color variation and they will probably go on again about the "red explosion drums stick out like a sore thumb among grey environments" rant. wow, unbelievable that you would even think of putting Blacksite Area 51 and Resistance 2 in the same sentence. In no way do they have similar qualities. Resistance 2 is a much bigger production and an all around quality piece of software. I have no idea what game youve been playing. Sure you didnt pick up Legendary instead by accident?

Im really pulling for the rumoured DLC or ending extension that I have been hearing about. Its kinda hard to pick the game back up, even though its fantastic, with so many things coming out on the horizon.
Everyone said 2007 was one of the best years in gaming, could 2008 possibly be even better? I think so.
Perhaps more time is needed to evaluate the online aspects of the game? Strange though, Gears 2 has a pretty ample online aspect and reviews all over were let loose, wonder whats making the difference? I really wanna here more about R2 though.
